A few words about our homeland

 

Ancient Corinth was one of the most notable cities of the ancient world. A place with rich heritage, it was associated with world-famous mythological and historical figures, such as Sisyphus, condemned to eternal punishment, Bellerophon, noted for his winged horse Pegasus, Periander, one of the Seven Sages of Greece, Diogenes the Cynic, Lais, Medea, Glafki… A prosperous center, a least affordable city. A place for the few. “Sailing to Corinth is not for all”…And from the vineyards of Nemea, Corinth and Sicyon… an endless flow of sharp and intoxicating wine summoned everyone to the sanctuaries of Aphrodite with their thousand courtesans.

Our History

50s-60s

Young Panagiotis Skliris, on his bicycle and with a “grado” (alcohol meter) in hand –(hence the nickname “Grados”), used to visit all the vineyards in the area, looking for the best variety/quality! This was just the beginning….

 

 

80s

Our winery grewand made steps towards upgrading the equipment and improving the quality of wine. Start of bottling and wholesaling.

 

2000s

Anastasios Skliris took the reins. Passionately motived and driven by a vision for growth, he put forward fresh ideas with a focus on quality. The winery started working with vineyards in Corinth, Boeotia and Achaea.

 

2020s

Our passion, enthusiasm and vision persist to this day!

 

70s

Driven by his passion and enthusiasm, Panagiotis Skliris founded the “Skliris” winery in the region of Kritika in ancient Corinth. Back then, the activities of the business included grape trading, winemaking and home deliveries of must and wine for the family barrel.

90s

Bottling, storage and wholesale equipment was upgraded. Anastasios Skliris joined the business.

 

2010s

The first major investment on the upgrade of the containers, a technology which determines the quality of wine. Large production capacity.

 

50s-60s
